Privacy policy
This policy explains how Tanren ("we", "the app") handles information. Last updated: October 30, 2026.
No account, no email
Tanren has no sign-up. We don't ask for your email, phone number or password. When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous ID for your device.
What the app stores
Your name (whatever you type), habits, check-ins, weight, training logs, goal and body data are saved first in your browser on your device (IndexedDB / localStorage).
- Private backup: so you can move to a new phone, your logs are also stored in a place only your anonymous ID can read (a Cloudflare database). Other users and your crew can't read it.
- When you join a crew: your crew (up to 8 people with the same invite code) can see only your name, the names and icons of today's habits, whether you did them, your streaks and claps. Your weight, training logs, goals and body data are never sent to your crew. Habits set to "Hide name from crew" don't share their names.
- Drops (in-app credits you earn by opening the app daily) are recorded with your anonymous ID.
Analytics
To improve the app, we count page views and actions (for example "checked a habit" or "shared a card") without identifying you. We don't sell data and we don't use advertising trackers.
Deleting your data
In the app, choose Settings → Crew → "Leave the crew", then clear this site's data in your browser settings. To also delete your private backup from our database, email us at apps@aiproductivity-lab.com with the name you use in the app. We'll confirm with you before deleting.
Health information
Numbers in the app (calorie targets, goal dates, est. 1RM) are rough estimates from general formulas — not medical advice. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before changing your diet or training.
Children
Tanren is not directed at children under 13.
